Respect for Our Planet

Our bags are handcrafted as limited editions, so it's possible that certain type or color will run out of stock.

If this happens, we will switch to other leather or color with similar properties and color.

Individual irregularities occur as a result and contribute to the character and appearance of our casual-stylish designs.

We only use saved leather. We source remaining lots of leather that are rejected by very strict rules of well known international fashion-houses.

We save this leather and we cut around the damage.

If we had to pay the normal price for this, our bags would be twice as expensive. fortunately that's not the case at the moment.

A win-win for the all of us !

- Our Yarns -

The innovative premium yarns from our handcrafted bags are made by our American-German yarn-and-textile partner with more than 151 years of history with the vision to make the world a better place by developing 100% sustainable stitching yarns.

PET-bottles are converted into a regenerated stitching yarn after consumption via an advanced purification process.

This Yarn Can Again Be Recycled Indefinitely Without Loss Of Material Quality, Making It Perfectly Circular.

Let us inform you : 1-PET-Bottles: The raw-materials are obtained from recycled PET-bottles. 2-Flakes : The PET-bottles are washed and chopped into flakes. 3-Granules: When the flakes are melted down, they turn into granules... 4-Recycled Raw Material : ...which are respond into thread/yarns... 5-Recycled Sewing Threads : ...and form the basis for our sustainable sewing threads.

- Our Tags -

Our P&D tags are made from the parts of leather that we recycle. A very simple circular production in which we reduce our waste to almost zero.

We Do Our Best, Just Like You !

- Our Lining -

For the European market, we consciously choose European picked cotton for the inner-lining of our handcrafted leather bags. The cotton-workers are paid fairly according to Western-European standards.

What comes up close is finally better for the environment.

Where Possible, We Keep The Footprint As Low As Possible !

- Our Pullers -

It is not commonly known that a metal exists that kills bacteria directly on contact without the need for disinfectants. On most hard surfaces, viruses, including the one now plaguing our planet, can live for four to five days.

But when viruses and bacteria attach themselves to copper and its alloys, such as solid brass, they are eliminated within hours. Solid copper-rich brass is a highly antimicrobial product.

Since 2017 We're Presenting Zipper-Pullers Made From Recycled Brushed Brass Hardware And Naturally Anti-Bacterial!

- Our Zippers -

In the past we used the quality metal zippers from the Tari factory.

A Dutch brand, located at the Bellamy Street, Amsterdam.

But step by step we swapped to the Japanese YKK's sustainable zippers.

- Our Leather Care -

We all try to take care of our body but please remind that also your natural leather goods need attention and affection.

Our natural leather care products will help you in protecting your essentials from external agents.

Safeguarding the softness of the natural leather and the uniqueness of your goods.

Our Advice Is To Use 100% Natural And Ph-Balanced Care Products.

- Our Logos -

Through sourcing remaining stocklots from world-wide well known brands, each bag is unique and also tells a special story.

Our bags are made from the large pieces of leather, the P&D logos are made from the parts that remain.

- Our Packing -

Cardboard Boxes Our boxes are more than just a regular box. It's part of Polder & Dike's journey toward zero carbon and waste to protect our environment. That is why this box has been optimized to reduce half of its average carbon print. Our boxes are produced by our partners with FSC-certified materials ensuring the cardboard comes from recycled sources and the wood from well managed forests. Together we gave cardboard materials a second life. We would love you start the third. Please ReUse And Recycle This Box.

Aluminium Cans Our aluminium cans are an infinitely recyclable material, and it takes up to 95 percent less energy to recycle them than to produce primary aluminum, which also limits emissions, including greenhouse gases. Today, about 75 percent of all aluminum produced in history, nearly a billion tons, is still in use.The recycling of aluminium generally produces significant cost savings over the production of new aluminium, even when the cost of collection, separation and recycling are taken into account. Over the long term, even larger national savings are made when the reduction in the capital costs associated with mines, landfills and international shipping/transport of raw aluminium are considered. Let's Move Together To Zero.

P & D doesn't like mass-production and fast-fashion and PVC-leather ( a.k.a vegan-leather)

We design and manufacture in North-Holland and since years we also manufacture in our small studio in "the boot" of Southern-Europe.

Simply with Dutch-European working conditions and No-Asian-Child-Labor. Do we have to explain more ?

Very nearby. Just as it should be ! Why not ?

To Be Conscious Is ... To Be Aware !
